The estate, once a hub for silk extraction, transitioned to tea cultivation, embracing a new chapter in its journey. In 1935, Malayalam Plantations Ltd. took the reins, followed by significant development under Mr. BM Mar in 1943. Through the passage of time, Pattumalay has witnessed the ebb and flow of history, eventually becoming part of the RPG Group in 1989, and now flourishing under the ownership of Harrisons Malayalam Ltd., a part of the RPSG Group.
