Over seven years, with unwavering determination, a tea empire emerged from the wilderness. The tea factory and buildings, testaments to human ingenuity, were constructed entirely using pony paths and headloads, a feat that echoes through the estate's legacy.

From 1935 to 1971, the Chettiar Brothers nurtured Kolukkumalai, their "Right Wary Scheme" a symbol of their commitment to the land. In 1971, the estate passed to the A.J. Group, who continue to uphold the traditions that have defined Kolukkumalai for nearly a century.
